There is a section in the calendar marked out for the teams you follow, but if you do not follow any teams that section will always say, "No Matches this day," so you might want to remove the whole section.

All you have to do in order to remove it is go to settings then select "Calendar Settings" then turn off the "Show Followed Teams Toggle."
