There is a section in the calendar marked out for the teams you follow, but if you do not follow any teams that section will always say, "'Team aren't playing today," so you might want to remove the whole section.
All you have to do in order to remove it is go to settings, scroll to Advance and then select "Calendar " - you can then adjust the Followed Teams setting to "Don't show".
