You can do this in two different ways:

1) Search for the competition you want to add in the search tab. Tap the competition, and tap the star in the top right corner to add or remove it from Favourites:

2) Go into the calendar tab, press 'edit' in the top right hand corner and then search for the competition you are looking for in the search bar:
